BODYBOUND

Some say beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but is it really? I would argue that true beauty is equal parts creation and recognition. It is just as much yours as it is someone else’s.

Join us on may 3rd, as for the FIRST TIME EVER we will transform music venue Willemeen into a QUEER THEATRE! An evening filled with music, dance, fashion, and important conversations brought to you by the finest queer artists and community builders that Arnhem has to offer.

This night will feature the premiere performance of “Bodybound”, the dance theater production choreographed by Djens (Jens Hertog). They will be joined on stage by Cherise Seedorf and Qiyun Zheng. By making use of the queer dance styles Voguing and W(h)acking they will explore their own relationship to queer beauty, drawing from personal experiences and memories.

Following this performance is the interactive panel “Bodytalks”, hosted by Sarjon and featuring panel guests Suus te Braak (Hizzfit), Patrick Hiemstra (Studio Hiem), and Flor Chavela. Together they will discuss how their work intersects with ideas of queer beauty, body image, and autonomy.

Dj Rizqita will provide us with tasty tracks and banging beats throughout the evening. Because even intelligent and artistic souls need to shake some ass!
